The 2015 Audi TT is a well-crafted sports car that meets the demands of both the passionate and practical driver. Its performance and driving quality maintain the standards of the luxury brand, while the price puts it within reach form many consumers. Also, with a brand new model coming out next year, this is the last opportunity to bag this version of the 2 door sports coupe. One of the best features is its soft top hat makes open-top driving a much better experience. Compared to a BMW or Porsche, it is a much better priced convertible sports car.

What’s New with the 2015 Audi TT?

Since the completely revamped Audi TT is waiting to be released next year, there have been no major changes done to the 2015 edition. Considering the performance and comfort of the 2014 model, this is not a bad thing at all. The wheelbase has been stretched by 37 mm and the car has been a made a bit narrower. We do feel that this is welcome change. This year also sees the addition of the TTS competition package

Performance and Utility

With the 2015 TT, Audi seems to have gone in for an approach that will make it more appealing for practical consumers. This seems evident in the cabin and interiors, which are quite handsome, but seem to lack the usual degree of Audi finesse. However, don’t be fooled into thinking that the car has held back on power.

The 2-liter turbo charged two cylinder engine puts out 211 horsepower and makes the TT a lot quicker than you would imagine. There is also the Quattro all wheel drive and dual-clutch transmission that makes driving this vehicle a real joy.

A higher output engine can be had in the Audi TTS. If you are looking for even more power and performance then there is the option of the TTRS that has highly upgraded hardware. There are also the coupe and roadster versions available, though the only difference between the two is the convertible top. The only problem is that the price seems to skyrocket when you decide to start adding options.

Competition for the 2015 Audi TT

The Audi TT has good competitors in the form of the Porsche Boxter, Mercedes-Benz SLK and BMW Z4. Performance-wise these cars fare better, but the great price of the TT is hard to beat.

Our Rating

The 2015 Audi TT will open up the luxury brand to a number of other consumers. Though it is a fast and powerful vehicle, it doesn’t quite have the hardware to compete with other brands in this segment. However it is very comfortable to drive and we will give it a 4.3/5.

  1. Great mix of price and performance.
  2. New top is very efficient.
  3. Balanced steering and confident all-wheel drive.
  4. Number of options available.

  1. Cabin design could be better.
  2. Lacks rear space.

Final Verdict:

The car is definitely a great buy for many reasons. The style is classic Audi and the front looks amazing. The engine also performs really well, though it might not be in the same league as the A5 or A7. Interiors could have been made better too, but overall it is very hard to find a better car for this price.
