Senner Tuning Audi R8 Super Sport

German outfit Senner Tuning is at it again, this time releasing an upgrade package for the Audi R8. Based off of the R8 4.2, Senner calls this version the Super Sport. The first thing you notice about the Senner Tuning R8 Super Sport is the all-black finish with upgraded 20-inch wheels. The upgraded suspension is adjustable and lowers the ride height 25mm in front and 15mm in rear for a more “ready to pounce” stance. The R8’s power has also been upgraded thanks to a retuned ECU, upgraded exhaust, and sport air filter. These upgrades bump the power up to 458 hp (from 420) and 347 ft-lb of torque. Senner also offers various carbon fiber parts for the R8 which you can see in the photo gallery below. The Senner Tuning Audi R8 Super Sport package starts at 14,900 Euros (about $22,360...

2011 Audi A7 Spy Shots

Some lucky photographers got a sneak peek at the upcoming Audi A7 recently. The A7 line, including the S7 and RS7 variants will come with a large variety of powerplants, starting with a 204 hp, 2.8-liter V6 and a 300 hp, 3.0-liter supercharged V6. Upgrading to the S7 (not to be confused with the Saleen S7 supercar) will bag you a 4.0-liter V8 engine pushing 397 hp. The RS7, the most powerful of the trims, will likely feature the same 5.0-liter 600 hp twin-turbo V10 engine rumored to be powering the R8 successor. Expect a 6-speed manual gearbox standard and a 7- or 8-speed automatic available as well. All-wheel-drive quattro will be standard on all North American versions. We should start seeing the A7 in 2010, with the S7 a year later and the RS7 two years after that. Head over to MotorAuthority for more...

Rumor: Audi R8 Successor to Have 600 hp Twin Turbo V10

Last week, we covered one artist’s conception of the R8’s replacement, which he called the R10 Concept (seen above.) Today we heard news of rumors flying around about some of the R8 successor’s specs. According to the grapevine, the car code named R10 will sport a 5.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V10 engine, pushing out a very serious 600+ horsepower. A wider and longer body along with that incredible power should allow the Audi supercar to travel from 0 to 60 mph in just over 3 seconds. The current R8 shares a platform with its sister car, the Lamborghini Gallardo. The “R10” is expected to share a platform with the replacement for the aging Lamborghini Murcielago supercar. Word is spreading that prototypes disguised as Lamborghinis are being tested on Germany’s Nurburgring as we speak, which means we should expect to see this car in production form some time around...

The New Audi A8

Oddly, most of the news surrounding the new Audi A8 has been about where it is being unveiled. Available in the UK in early 2010 the new Audi is being unveiled in Miami at the end of November. The recent capital of design, the new model will be premiered on the eve of Design Miami in The Audi Pavilion, a temporary structure made special for this occasion. Audi will be looking to grab more headlines like it did when the Audi R8 aluminum concept car was unveiled. Despite all this hype about where the new model is being unveiled there are still some facts and figures to get your teeth into. Modification to air-bag suspension has improved the ride and provided better handling. The ride is also quieter without increasing weight, so performance should be unaffected. However, it is still unclear on the exact engine specs at this point. Will it have the same 4.2 litre V8 as the US market? A V8 is definitely expected but there’s been talk on whether it will be a 3 litre V6 from the S4 or an economical four-cylinder! Given the hoopla around the car’s premier I’m guessing they haven’t skimped on the engine and expect a surprise of some sort. A lot will also be made of the car’s design. Back in 1994 when the A8 first came out, it was...

Audi R8 Crashes into Two Luxury Cars

Are rich people suddenly getting stupider? First we have a Bugatti Veyron crash into a lake last week, and now this. Looks like a beautiful red Audi R8 got sandwiched in between two vehicles in Costa Mesa, CA. The two other vehicles were a Range Rover and a BMW 6-series, both of which are expensive themselves. Another recent crash involved an Audi R8 crashing into the back of an ultra-expensive Ferrari 599 Fiorano: When will they stop? Thanks to WreckedExotics for the tip, and be sure to head over there to look at more exotic car wrecks. If you can bear seeing such...

Heffner Twin-Turbo R8

Heffner Performance is known in the high-end tuning world for creating ultra-powerful versions of cars like the Dodge Viper, various Lamborghinis, and the Ford GT. Now they got their hands on an Audi R8 and added their own twin turbo system. The stock R8, according to their dyno tests, produced 353 rwhp. After Heffner added the TT system with only 6 psi of boost, the car output was increased to 536 rwhp – a gain of over 50%. Not content with this of course, Heffner is working on a 100 octane system that will likely reach 600 rwhp, and a twin turbo system for the R8 V10 as well. I’m looking forward to hearing more about this in the near...

MTM Tunes the TT-RS

A few months ago we got a look at the Sportec TT-RS, a tuned version of Audi’s high performance sports coupe tuned to 400 horsepower by only modifying the car’s ECU. This time, German tuners MTM get their hands on a TT-RS and make it even better. By taking the 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder engine and tweaking the ECU and adding their own high performance exhaust, MTM was able to squeeze out 424 hp – 84 more horsepower than the stock TT-RS. The power enhancements allow the MTM TT-RS to travel from 0 to 62 mph in only 4.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 181 mph. The MTM TT-RS package comes in three varieties, the above-mentioned 424 hp version being the most powerful – and most expensive – running you about $12,900. If you don’t have that kind of cash lying around, you have the option of the 404 or 408 hp versions as well, which will cost about $2,800 and $7,000, respectively. Optional 19- or 20-inch BIMOTO wheels are also...

Audi R10 Rendering – The R8’s Successor

What you see above is independant designer Marouane Bembli’s interpretation of what he calls the Audi R10 – the successor to the R8. In line with Audi concepts of past, the R10 (which shares its name with the R10 TDI race car currently being used) is a futuristic representation of the current R8 supercar. Stretched and widened, more aggressive overall styling, and typical futuristic looking wheels straight out the movie I, Robot. Marouane Bembli also says the R10 should get power from an ethanol-powered V10 or V12 TDI engine, basically a step up from the R8’s V8/V10 lineup. I have a feeling Audi will be focusing a bit more on alternate propulsion (i.e. electric powertrains,) proven by the Audi e-Tron electric supercar. Check out more renderings of the R10 below. source: feber via...
