BMW has the M3, and Audi has the S4, and watching these two duke it out is always fun. Of course, the Audi S4 does have a lot going for it, over and above the BMW. For starters, it has the truly sublime quattro all wheel drive system. Audi says that the S4 ” … is a sports car offering an impressive driving experience, leading technologies, and every-day suitability.” Although some might quibble with calling it a sportscar, there is do denying the S4′s performance capabilities.

The Audi S4 also features such performance goodies as Audi Drive Select (adjustable engine/throttle mapping, suspension damping, rear differential, and dynamic steering), an all-new version of the 3.0 TFSI supercharged V6, a new 7-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission for faster precise gear changes. The quattro system now features a new optional Sports Rear Differential enhances agility and control.

There are also S4-specific interior and exterior distinctive features such as new rear LED lighting, front/rear bumpers, including unique front grille, a trunk lid with integrated spoiler, swoopy aluminum optic mirrors, special 18” wheels standard with high performance tires, S4 brake calipers with logo, comfy sport seats with unique interior color offerings, a nice black interior headliner, the ubiquitous S4-badged steering wheel, aluminum door sill inlays, key fob, and gauge cluster, classy brushed aluminum interior trim with available carbon fiber, wood, and stainless steel options.

The 3.0 TFSI V6 is an FSI direct injection plant with an intercooled supercharger that puts out 333hp and 325 lb-ft of torque. Which is enough to motivate the S4 from 0-60 mph 4.9 sec and give it a top speed of 155 mph.
