That's what I was saying - the energy a human wastes (like heat) would need to be used to its full extent to power this thing. Those food and drinks you mention contain energy (calories) which is then consumed by the human and converted into movement and heat. There is no energy being created there, only converted. The 24 h speed record is 1021 km distance travelled witch is an average speed of 42,5 km/h. With a perfectly chosen aerodynamic shape an a good amature or even better pro cyclist this is achievable. Energy can be converted. The human body wastes 75 percent of its energy on the production of bodyheat. So theoretically this heat can be used for forward motion of the HPV. And you are wrong that energy can not be created. A human being can store food and drinks on his/ her human power vehicle and by eating and drinking it can add new energy to the body. In the Tour de France the cyclists eat and drink while they ride and continue the trip. I think the biggest problem is that most people are conventional thinkers, they don't seem to be able to think outside the box.
